Business Transformation Initiatives Revolutionizing How Residents and Businesses Work

San Diego, CA and West Allis, WI – December 15, 2016
–– The Mayor’s Office of the City of West Allis and BP Logix, provider of BPM software solutions for rapid workflow app development, today announced that West Allis has been named a Winner in the 2016 WfMC Global Awards for Excellence in BPM and Workflow. The recognition for the 2016 WfMC Global Awards for Excellence in BPM and Workflow is based on the City’s innovative approach to its Business Growth and the Housing Affordability and Maintenance Initiatives. The goals of the two initiatives were to align the City with its residents and business owners, to automate and streamline key processes and to enhance collaboration. Leading with purpose were keys to these endeavors which were based on not only standardizing processes and procedures used by the City but also providing more timely and responsive communication. The new system, built on BP Logix Process Director, provides a platform for sharing of information among city employees, business owners and residents, ensuring that everyone has a current view as to what is transpiring — and providing visibility into the status of the activities and processes themselves.

The leadership of West Allis was keenly aware of the challenges inherent in transforming a post-industrial Midwestern city — and the risk of failing to do so. “West Allis is a city focused on transformation. To achieve this goal demanded planning, management — and, as importantly, a willingness to change,” stated Dan Devine, Mayor of West Allis. “Our leadership team also recognized the role of BPM technology in the creation and delivery of services to attract and retain new residents and businesses. Building partnerships between residents and business owners, and making West Allis an example of an innovative, forward-thinking city were key to the success of these initiatives.”

Managing the complexity of providing services for a growing municipality, operating under budgetary constraints and focused on ensuring an engaging customer experience was pivotal for West Allis leadership. The convergence of BPM and case management, as provided by BP Logix, is enabling cities like West Allis to offer solutions that are highly competitive and content-driven, solutions that inspire communication and drive positive results.

“The new scalable and sustainable application that West Allis built with Process Director provides a platform for sharing of information among City management, Aldermen, employees, residents, owners and other stakeholders, ensuring that everyone has a current view as to what is transpiring,” stated Jay O’Brien, BP Logix CEO. “The need for tighter controls, repeatable processes, and a requirement to be more timely and measurable were other drivers. With an expanded community of both business owners and residents looking for a more efficient way to address their requirements, introducing a system like Process Director that can automate key processes held great promise.”

Co-sponsored by WfMC and BPM.com and now in their 23rd year, the WfMC Global Awards for Excellence in BPM and Workflow recognizes end-user organizations that have demonstrably excelled in implementing innovative business process solutions to meet strategic business objectives.
