Dr. Jethro Ekuta is Chief Regulatory & Safety Officer at Ascendis Pharma, where he leads Global Regulatory Affairs & Pharmacovigilance. He brings over 30 years of experience in regulatory leadership roles across the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and major pharmaceutical companies including Alexion (AstraZeneca Rare Disease), Horizon Therapeutics (Amgen), Johnson & Johnson, Genzyme (Sanofi), Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer.

Dr. Ekuta holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ahmadu Bello University, a Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Toxicology from the University of Mississippi, and an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology. He is Chair of the Board of Directors for the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) and is a Fellow of RAPS.

Dr. Rob Kaper is Vice President of Global Medical Affairs at Otsuka. A pharmaceutical physician with over 30 years of experience, he builds, harmonizes, integrates, and motivates medical affairs teams to reach the next level of strategic planning and execution for new product launches and lifecycle management.

He leads cross-functional collaboration with commercial and clinical partners to maximize clinical development in order to achieve both regulatory approval and market access with reimbursed products.

Dr. Kaper has held leadership roles in medical affairs and pharmacovigilance at small (AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Acadia Pharmaceuticals) and midsize (Organon, Otsuka) pharmaceutical companies across Europe (the Netherlands and the UK) and the U.S. since 2005, with a global perspective.

He has unified medical teams, navigated the implementation of a Corporate Integrity Agreement, integrated departments following acquisitions, globalized medical affairs functions, driven cross-functional strategic planning, and managed product safety concerns in collaboration with regulators, epidemiologists, the media, and the legal system.
