2015 Report Evaluates 15 iBPMS Vendors

San Diego, Ca.—March 18, 2015BP Logix, a provider of BPM solutions for rapid workflow app development, today announced that it has been recognized by Gartner, Inc. in the new “Magic Quadrant for Intelligent Business Process Management Suites 2015″ (Gartner, Inc. “Magic Quadrant for Intelligent Business Process Management Suites 2015″ by R. Dunie, et al, 3/18/15).

According to the report, the iBPMS market is the natural evolution of the earlier BPMS market, adding more emphasis on support for greater system and human intelligence within business processes. Capabilities such as "what if" process simulation, optimization and the ability to gain insight into process performance have been included in many BPMS offerings for several years. iBPMSs have added enhanced support for human collaboration, integration with social media, mobile access to processes, more analytics and real-time decision management. An iBPMS orchestrates work to produce business outcomes that go far beyond typical process efficiency and performance measures.

For its 2015 iBPMS Magic Quadrant, Gartner evaluated platforms based on their ability to orchestrate increasingly complex work styles. The research group views the ability to address a wider variety of styles as increasingly important, particularly in the context of digitalized processes—which require greater insight into context, are executed at an increasingly rapid pace, and span the virtual and physical worlds for both contextual insight and work execution.

The report states, “iBPMS platforms extend the transformational enterprise value of BPM through tight integration of modern technologies including data management and analytics, mobility, social collaboration, and cloud computing. These capabilities accelerate the decision-making cycle of Awareness, Knowledge, and Action to drive better decisions and faster organizational response to customer needs and changing marketplace challenges and opportunities. An iBPMS orchestrates work to produce business outcomes that go far beyond typical process efficiency and performance measures.”

According to Gartner, “BP Logix Process Timeline technology provides the process owner with key insights into the behavior of each process instance. If, at any point, it determines that any future task—or the process as a whole—is in danger of running late, then Process Director can take action directly, or notify the process owner to intercede manually. Process Timeline is easy to use and flexible. Tasks can be linked dynamically using rules or by identifying predecessors. Ad hoc and improvisational tasks can be easily added to a process as needed.
Additionally, BP Logix Elastic BPM cloud is offered in single-tenant and multitenant deployments. The multitenant offering provides an attractive entry point for smaller applications, while the single tenant offering supports more robust enterprise requirements.”

According to Jay O’Brien, CEO of BP Logix, “We are pleased to have been selected as one of the top 15 iBPMS vendors by Gartner. Process Director has been leveraged to implement all four of the main use cases of an iBPMS: (1) Composition of intelligent process-centric applications, (2) CPI, (3) Business transformation and (4) Digitalized process. As a result of using Process Timeline our customers are transforming their organizations and, as Gartner points out, supporting business responsiveness.”

In conclusion Gartner notes, “While an iBPMS can coordinate short-lived, transactional system-oriented processes, they are best used to manage long-lived business processes that span both people and systems as well as functional boundaries. Solutions that balance ease of use and time to solution alongside greater intelligence capabilities are seeing the most success."
