Bechtel Corporation to Showcase Its Mobile Workforce Experience

San Diego, Ca — July 22, 2013 — BP Logix, a developer of BPM software that accelerates time-to-value, today announced that its customer, Bechtel Corporation, will be presenting at KMWorld 2013 on November 7th in Washington, D.C. The 17th annual conference, whose theme is Building Collaborative Organizations: People, Platforms & Programs, will take place over three days, Nov. 6-8th, and showcase presenters describing business processes and productivity, streamlining operations as well as accelerating development and innovation.

Craig Bennett, Software Development Manager at Bechtel, will discuss “How Bechtel is Improving its Mobile Workforce Experience with BPM.” The presentation will highlight the use case and challenges the company faced as it transitioned from an in-house developed form and workflow tool to a full-featured commercial Business Process Management solution. The session will cover the challenges Bechtel faced including user awareness, user acceptance, business acceptance (Why does my project need this?), and roll-out. Bennett will share both the best and worst practices that were encountered during the transition to a more efficient, effective and ‘mobile user-enabled’ system.

One of the largest engineering procurement and construction companies in the world, Bechtel operates through five global business units across 140 countries. Needing a more user-enabled infrastructure to support the automation, maintenance and execution of its business processes and workflows, Bechtel’s IT team selected and implemented Process Director to achieve its goal.

“Progressive organizations like Bechtel are making the infrastructure investment that enables them to leapfrog the competition, stated Marti Colwell, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for BP Logix. “Prior to selecting Process Director, Bechtel conducted an in-depth study of its server system -- and determined that a lot of bottlenecks and delays were the result of not knowing where a process stood, who had the action to perform the tasks, etc. The Process Timeline™ gives Bechtel a better picture of where things are and, as they collect metrics, will enable Bechtel to optimize its processes,” she concluded.
