Business Rules Engine
Process Director incorporates a business rules engine that empowers users to rapidly implement more complex business processes. Business rules are reusable objects that can be embelied within your workflow to conditionally control how they should run and behave in various conditions. Business rules can be defined as simple conditions or sophisticated interrelated rule sets.
Conditions / Decisions
Conditions and rules provide consistency in your process. These rules control everything from the behavior of an eForm to the decision branches in a workflow.
Business Rules are stored in the repository and can be modified by non-technical users. They are configured in a graphical method from inside your browser.
Business Rules are reusable and a single rule can be used in many different areas. A Business Rule can be used to control the behavior of a form, the path of a workflow, the users assigned to steps, and what is displayed in a report.
Decisions Using External Data
Information from external data sources can be used to control rule evaluations. This external data can control the result of a rule (e.g. spending limits table for approvals based on dollar amounts), or be used to return a user for a rule (e.g. assign the head of the “department” on the form, or assign the “store manager”).
