NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH SELECTS BP LOGIX
Web-Based System Enables NIMH to Automate Forms and Workflow Processes

San Diego, CA – Jan 27, 2009 – BP Logix, a provider of web-based business process automation and reporting solutions, today announced that the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) has selected BP Logix Workflow Director as its workflow and electronic forms solution. The product enables NIMH’s IT department to automate documents being used by divisional, operational, budget, procurement and administrative staff. In addition to automating its processes, BP Logix has helped NIMH to expedite and streamline the processes themselves, enabling the organization to be more effective.

The mission of NIMH is to transform the understanding and treatment of mental illnesses through basic and clinical research, paving the way for prevention, recovery and cure. For the Institute to continue fulfilling this vital public health mission, it must foster innovative thinking and ensure that a full array of novel scientific perspectives are used to further discovery in the evolving science of brain, behavior, and experience. In this way, breakthroughs in science can become breakthroughs for all people with mental illnesses. The research initiated within NIMH divisions and the programs it promotes are designed to better understand mental disorders, develop new and better interventions for people with mental illnesses and strengthen the public health impact of NIMH-supported research.
John S. Harris is the Chief Information Officer at NIMH, responsible for Extramural IT infrastructures and IT services. His department of 30 supports 1300 users across the Institute. One of its responsibilities was to automate the Institute’s workflow processes - and the forms and documents associated with those processes. Faced with time constraints and a need to streamline and automate its processes quickly, Harris identified the key features and capabilities NIMH required. He selected six companies, did a comparative analysis and short-listed three companies. After a 90 day evaluation, Harris selected BP Logix Workflow Director- and began the process of automating the Institute’s forms and documents.
“We did not want, or need, a product suite that offered workflow and forms as a component of a larger suite. Instead we wanted a product that had been developed to address requirements like ours, offered an intuitive interface, was not overly complex and was competitively priced,” stated Harris.
BP Logix Workflow Director addresses the needs of business users to manage, automate, track, audit and report on critical business processes. “Our products embrace workflow, electronic forms, document management and collaboration – and provide visibility into business processes,” stated Edward Skiko, CEO of BP Logix, Inc. “We are pleased to support NIMH as it implements workflow and electronic forms within the Institute. We appreciate John’s confidence in BP Logix,” he added.

“I like what BP Logix has done for us in terms of making our processes more effective – and I appreciate the company’s excellent customer support,” Harris concluded.
